In the meeting of scientific and executive committee, the deadline for abstract submission extended to 9 June 2016.

The meeting of policy making council took place with the participation of Dr. Seyed Yahya Safavi president of the Institute for Islamic World Futures Studies (IIWFS) and secretary of the ICGCIW, Dr. Mohammad Reza Hafeznia scientific secretary of ICGCIW, Dr. Seyed Hamzeh Safavi executive secretary of ICGCIW, Dr. Jamile Tavakoli Nia dean of Faculty of Earth Sciences of Shahid Beheshti University, Dr. Elahe Kolaee the head of Regional Studies department in the University of Tehran and professors of geographic sciences, political sciences and international relations at the IIWFS.

In the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Seyed Hamzeh Safavi director of the IIWFS and executive secretary of the conference stated a report of the actions taken:

Launching the conference website in Farsi, English and Arabic, doing executive coordinates, coordination with the Ministry of Science and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to invite Islamic world scholars and international experts, holding coordination meetings with academic centers are among the executive committee activities.
Also the scientific secretary of the conference, Dr. Hafez Nia presented a report of scientific committee activities.

Members of scientific and executive committee discussed the topics of the conference, promoting scientific level of papers by inviting experts in this field, having a basic look at the conference subjects, recognizing the new capacities in the Islamic world and attracting national and international contributions in holding the conference.
Due to the high volume of abstracts which have been submitted to the secretariat also the demands by researchers and professors of geographic sciences, political sciences and international relations, it was decided to extend the deadline for abstract submission in this meeting.

The conference will be held on 15-16 November 2016 with the aim of understanding and determining the crises of Islamic world, studying the solutions to remove these  threats by using the Islamic world capacities and recognizing the scientific-practical strategies to achieve unity and convergence through the Islamic scholars' viewpoints in Shahid Beheshti University.

Mission statement:

IIWFS was founded with the task of studying issues and problems relevant to the Islamic World and tries to provide applied scientific-research, problem-based principles needed by elites and scholars in Iran and Islamic World.
The institute introduces and promotes the enabling doctrines and patterns to establish convergence and synergy among Islamic societies, also to confront with the distorted image of Islam and weakened of unique capabilities of the Islamic World.

Activities:

The major activities of the IIWFS are considered as the following:

Holding national and international seminars and meetings in cooperation with universities and think tanks to study the unity among Islamic countries, peace and sustainable development are one of the main activities of IIWFS. In these seminars, IIWFS tries to establish a common strategic culture, synergy and unity.

The most significant activities of the IIWFS is authoring and translating books. The institute has published twelve books and is publishing the Journal of Islamic World Studies.

The Institute of Islamic World Future Studies has investigated the encyclopedia of the Islamic World during 6 years and turns it to an eight-volume book of the Islamic World as the most significant publication of the institute, which revealed in August 2014 with participation of scholars and ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran.

Theorizing on the area of unity among Islamic societies, expanding economic collaborations among Islamic countries and also catching up development based on Islamic worldview are considered as an another major objectives of IIWFS
